Freeport Wild Bird Supply

Freeport Wild Bird Supply is a bird-feeding and birding shop on US Route One in Freeport, Maine. It stocks premium birdseed, a wide range of feeders and birdhouses, an extensive selection of squirrel-proof feeders and squirrel baffles, and one of the largest selections of natural history books in the state. Gifts are emphasized as locally made, Made in the USA or Fair Trade, and the store sells binoculars and spotting scopes with a view of birds from its window.

The store has been open since 2004 and is locally owned and operated by Jeannette and Derek Lovitch, both career biologists and naturalists. Free guided bird walks meet at the store every Saturday morning at 8:00 am, and the shop also offers indoor programs, paid guided walks and yard site evaluations, with a feeding station and native plant garden visible from the front window.
