Shigs In Pit

Shigs In Pit is a barbecue restaurant known for slow-smoked meats, St. Louis style spareribs and a menu of hand-cut fries, garlic toast and homemade sides. The team began as a competition barbecue group and has won a long list of Kansas City Barbecue Society grand championships, which shows in the smoked pork, brisket and burnt ends on the menu. Its wings come in a range of sauces, from dry rub to Korean BBQ.

The Maplecrest Road location serves a bar menu with Mad Anthony Brewing beer, and the restaurant also offers pickup, delivery and carry-out, including smoked meats by the pound and family combos. Catering is a major part of the business, with full bar service, linen service and on-site staffing available for events. The restaurant is on Maplecrest Road in Fort Wayne, and a second location is on Illinois Road.
