Clay Your Way

Clay Your Way is a pottery painting and art studio open to any age, where visitors pick out a ceramic piece, paint it on site and leave it to be glazed and fired. Painting is the main draw, and the studio also offers glass fusing, canvas painting, splatter painting, board art and animal stuffing. The business was founded in 2001 by Sandy Toop and is popular for date nights, family outings, girls' days and birthday and bachelorette parties.

No appointment is needed unless you are booking a party, so walk-ins are welcome during open hours. Because painting takes time, plan to arrive an hour before closing, since the studio closes early if no painters are in the studio an hour before close. Finished pieces are glazed and fired, then ready for pickup in about one week. The studio is on 17th Avenue South in Fargo, in Suite J. Abby Januszewski, a Fargo-area native, bought the business in the summer of 2021.
