Greenhill Humane Society

Greenhill Humane Society has cared for animals in Lane County since 1944 and describes itself as the only animal shelter in the Eugene and Springfield area. Its work includes adoptions, reuniting lost pets with their families, disaster response, and crisis care boarding for people facing domestic violence or medical emergencies. The shelter also offers spay and neuter surgeries for community cats, a pet pantry, and humane education.

Greenhill is a private nonprofit that relies mainly on donations and fees for services. Each month more than 400 volunteers help care for animals at the shelter or in foster homes, and the staff includes two full-time veterinarians.
