Erie Ale Works

Erie Ale Works is a craft brewery on West 12th Street in Erie, one of a handful of microbreweries within the city limits. Its beers include Tattooed Lady, a blonde ale that serves as the everyday workhorse, Nexus of the Universe, a Simcoe, Citra and Nugget hazy IPA, and Octoberfest, a seasonal Märzen. Seasonal releases such as Sploof!, a West Coast-style IPA, and Silli Vanilli, a vanilla porter, rotate through the taps.

The taproom is open concept and sits beside the production equipment, so guests sit right by the brewing action. The brewery has no kitchen of its own, but local food trucks set up on site and food delivery from nearby restaurants is welcome. Pints, flights, crowlers and growler fills are available. The front lot fills quickly, so after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends guests can park at neighboring businesses. Hours run late on Fridays and Saturdays.
