Before The Barrel Distillery

Before The Barrel Distillery makes small-batch traditional and flavored moonshines, whiskey, rum and gin, and serves them in its tasting room. Visitors can sample spirits, order handcrafted cocktails, or buy bottles to take home. One of its signature products is an age-your-own whiskey, which lets customers age a spirit themselves. Bernie Blore, a Harborcreek native with a background in chemical distillation, opened the distillery in August 2022.

The tasting room is open Wednesday through Saturday afternoons and evenings, with longer hours on Saturday. Private events can be booked by reaching out ahead of time. The distillery sits on Wattsburg Road, a short drive south of I-90, and it sometimes has a food truck on site serving walking tacos.
