Michigan Certified Development Corporation

Michigan Certified Development Corporation, known as MCDC, is a nonprofit that helps Michigan businesses obtain SBA-backed loans. It is not a lender itself. Instead, it matches business owners with partner lenders for SBA 504 loans, which fund fixed assets such as real estate and equipment, and SBA 7(a) loans, which can cover acquisitions, working capital and refinancing. The organization says it has operated since 1982 and has been an SBA Premier lender in Michigan.

Owners start by answering a short set of questions about their plans, then receive contact details for lenders interested in their request. MCDC administers 7(a) loans through the life of the loan. The Central Michigan office is on Coolidge Road in East Lansing, with other offices across the state, and the organization says it serves businesses in every county.
