American Underground

American Underground is a startup hub and coworking community in downtown Durham, serving entrepreneurs, creators and changemakers. Its offerings include flexible workspace, private office space, meeting rooms, events, and programs such as an accelerator-style fellowship and a job board for startup roles. The organization was founded in 2010 in a basement at the American Tobacco Campus and has since expanded to several downtown locations.

Membership and office space are arranged through the team, and meeting rooms can be reserved separately. Tours are scheduled through the website, and the mailing address is 324 Blackwell Street, Suite 900. The company says it has been tracking the funding and revenue of its member companies since 2014.
