Shelter, food and clothing for neighbors in need124 West Apple St., Dayton, OH
St. Vincent de Paul Society, Dayton is a Catholic charity serving neighbors in need across the Miami Valley. Its work centers on shelter, food and clothing, with person-to-person help delivered through neighborhood ministries and homeless and housing programs. The society runs an emergency shelter for women and families, supportive housing for men, women and families, and supportive services for veteran families.
Neighborhood Conferences are based out of 24 local parishes and schools, and volunteers called Vincentians offer utility, food, clothing and furniture help, often through home visits. Donations of household goods, clothing and furniture go to the CityThrift store, and proceeds from sales return to the mission. Anyone seeking help can call the society's main line, and the Society welcomes donations and volunteers.
