Documenting how the nation's lands are used and perceived9331 Venice Boulevard, Culver City, CA

The Center for Land Use Interpretation studies how the nation's lands are divided up, used and perceived. Its work includes a searchable Land Use Database, a photo archive, a newsletter and collections drawn from projects across the country. Past regional sites have included exhibit units and field offices in Troy, New York, Houston, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The main office and exhibit space is in Culver City, and the Center has also run a desert research station at Wendover and a site in Swansea. Its online shop sells items connected to the work, and the photographs and writing are shared under a Creative Commons license for noncommercial use.
