The Cleveland Bagel Company

The Cleveland Bagel Company makes hand-rolled, malty bagels in the Cleveland style, which they describe as smaller, chewy, and crisp on the outside, baked fresh every day. Bagels come plain, everything, sea salt, poppy seed, cinnamon cranberry and several other flavors, and they are sold by the single, half-dozen or dozen. Schmears range from plain and honey walnut to chipotle, dill and a vegan cashew version, and the menu includes egg and cheese, bacon sandwiches, a classic lox and a veggie sandwich with house-made hummus.

The company has two shops, one in Ohio City at 4201 Detroit Avenue and one in Midtown on Carnegie Avenue near the Cleveland Clinic, both open daily in the early morning until 1:00 PM. Their bagels are also sold through coffee shops around Cleveland, and special orders can be placed by contacting the shop.
