Bakery Makel

Bakery Makel is a Latin and international bakery in Clearwater known for pastries, desserts, bread and custom cakes made from scratch each day. The menu includes Tres Leches, flan, empanadas, bread pudding and rice pudding, along with Cuban sandwiches pressed on Cuban bread and a range of guava and cheese pastries. The shop is run by a pastry chef with decades of baking experience, and the name combines the first names of the two owners.

Wedding and special occasion cakes are designed in person, so customers are encouraged to stop by the shop to talk through flavors, layers and designs. Catering platters and party trays need to be ordered three to seven days ahead by phone, and all orders require a 50% deposit. Delivery is available within a limited area, and the bakery is at 2140 Drew Street in Clearwater.
