Al's Burger Shack

Al's Burger Shack cooks burgers to order with 100% Black Angus ground chuck, hand-patted and seasoned before it hits the grill. Specialty toppings and sauces are made in the shack, and the menu also includes hot dogs, sandwiches and sides like sweet potato fries and tater tots. Frozen custard shakes are made with custard from local creameries.

The Franklin Street location in Chapel Hill is one of five shacks, with others in Leland, Apex and Summerville, South Carolina, plus a second Chapel Hill spot. Seating is on the patio, and beer and soft drinks are served over plenty of ice. Orders can be placed online, and the team will bring the shack to an event through catering.
