Johnson's Martial Arts of Cary teaches Traditional Taekwondo, combining karate-style strikes with Korean kicking techniques. The school runs separate programs for young children, school-aged kids, teens and adults, and it has been operating since 2006. Leadership, character and self-defense are the core focus of the classes.
Classes are divided by age and skill level. Cubs (ages 4 and 5) attend 30-minute sessions, while juniors (ages 6 to 11) and students 12 and older take 50-minute classes. New families can book a free trial class before committing. The academy sits across from Davis Drive Middle School in Cary, and it also has a location in Morrisville.
