Irish-themed tavern known for Reubens and corned beef9259 4th Avenue, New York, NY

Kelly's Tavern is a family-run Irish-themed tavern that has been on the Jersey Shore since 1949, when Ed and Mabel Kelly bought a tavern across the highway from its present spot. The family moved into the current building in 1959, and the tavern is known for its corned beef and Reuben sandwiches. A hand-painted map of Ireland covers the ceiling above the large bar, and banners and coats of arms imported from Dublin decorate the room.
Gift cards come in $25, $50 and $100 amounts. The menu has grown over the years, and the Tiffany Room adds dining space beside the main tavern. Party reservations can be requested through the website. Many customers are longtime regulars who now bring their grandchildren, and the family's stated motto is good food, good drinks and great service.
