Bristol Yacht Club

Bristol Yacht Club is a private sailing and social club on Bristol Harbor, founded in 1877 by a group of Brown University students who wanted to row on the harbor. Its stated mission is to encourage yachting, seamanship, aquatic sports and social activities among its members. Racing, member cruises and sailing classes, including a learn-to-sail program and a women's sailing program, are among its main activities.

Membership is the core of the club, and much of its work is run by volunteers. The club offers house events, special dinners, junch and family gatherings, a weekly racing series, and visitor services such as moorings and dock access for boaters passing through.
