Emmi Bakery and Cafe

Emmi Bakery Café is a neighborhood bakery and café on City Square in Charlestown, open since 2014. The bakery bakes through the day, with almond croissants, sourdough loaves and other pastries, and the breakfast menu includes bagels and avocado toast on sourdough topped with hard-boiled eggs, feta and baby arugula. Espresso drinks, salads and signature paninis round out the menu, including the Emmi Salad with its house vinaigrette.

The café is an independent spot rather than a chain, and many locals stop in on their way to work for a pastry or coffee. It opens early every day. Weekday hours end in the mid-afternoon, and weekend hours start an hour later and run into the late morning and early afternoon.
