Homewood Gourmet

Homewood Gourmet is a casual eatery known for gourmet sandwiches and salads, along with homemade sides made from fresh, local ingredients. The kitchen uses locally sourced produce and all natural and organic ingredients whenever possible, and the menu includes catering through its Dinner in a Dash and dinner party services.

Owners Chris and Laura Zapalowski took over from founder Chef Franklin Biggs in 2010. Chris brings New Orleans cooking, while Laura adds a classic Southern style. The shop is at 2703 Mamie L Foster, 18th Place in Homewood, and it has recently opened at a new location. It is open weekdays and Saturday mornings and early afternoons, and closed on Sundays.
