Washington Conservatory of Music

Washington Conservatory of Music is a community music school offering group classes, private lessons, chamber music, a Suzuki academy and music camps for children and adults. It is one of only 17 community music schools in the U.S. with national accreditation through ACCPAS, and it founded its Tapestry program to offer free and low-cost early childhood and instrumental classes to children of immigrants and families of color.

Classes cover a wide range of instruments and styles, including voice, guitar, ukulele, Irish fiddle, flute, tin whistle and bodhran, plus music theory. Adult beginners and experienced players both have options, and some adult classes require instructor approval before signing up. The conservatory is located at 7300 MacArthur Boulevard in Glen Echo, on the grounds of Glen Echo Park, and its programs are presented in cooperation with the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture and the National Park Service.
