About Thundering Surf Waterpark

The story

Thundering Surf is a family-owned waterpark on Long Beach Island that has operated since 1977, when it started with four concrete water slides. Today it has six tube slides, the Rainbow Rapids drop, a toddler area, a lazy river with calm and fast modes, and a FlowRider surf simulator for first-timers and experienced surfers. Adventure golf is on the grounds too.

Visitors range from toddlers to college students home for the summer, and the park is seasonal and currently closed for the season. Cabanas can be booked online, and birthday parties and group visits are available. Food and snacks are sold on site. The park is in Beach Haven, reached from the Garden State Parkway and the Turnpike.
