Carden Kennels

Carden Kennels provides overnight boarding in private rooms with radiant-heat floors, supervised daycare for social dogs, and bathing and full grooming. Cats and small pets such as rabbits and pocket pets have their own boarding space, with vertical condos and a calmer setting. Readers of Downeast Dog News have voted the kennel among Maine's best for daycare, boarding and grooming.

Daycare requires an application and a temperament evaluation before a dog can join play groups, and reservations can be made online. Staff are certified in pet first aid and CPR, and the team adjusts group play and feeding to suit individual guests. The company also runs a second location in Holden, and the Bangor kennel has indoor play areas and secure outdoor yards for dogs.
