R&B's Steak and Fries

R&B's Steak and Fries serves East Coast-style cheesesteak sandwiches and loaded fries in Austin, with cheesesteaks made to order using 100% Texas beef on Amoroso rolls. Cheese options are Classic Whiz, American, or Provolone, and toppings include grilled onions, mushrooms, bell peppers and jalapeños. The fries have drawn local praise, and the business won Austin Monthly's 2021 Best Fries award.

The food is ordered at the window, by phone for call-in pickup, or through the online ordering system, and the sandwiches are cooked only after an order is placed. Pickup is in the back alley between 6th and 7th streets, where you park with hazard lights on and show your confirmation email at the window. The restaurant, founded by two brothers from New Jersey, is at 1700 East 6th Street in Austin, and it is open late, until midnight or until sold out.
