Kalimotxo

Kalimotxo is a Spanish restaurant and cocktail bar in East Austin, known for Basque-style pintxos, Andalusian tapas and larger shared plates built around Texas ingredients. The bar leans on fortified wines, sherry and vermouth, and the menu includes a vermouth flight and a Burnt Basque Cheesecake. The name comes from the Basque drink of red wine and Coke.

Tapas are meant for sharing, and the wine list is entirely Spanish. The room is loud and lively, with music and a bar focus. Happy hour runs 5 to 6 PM daily, and the restaurant hosts private events and sells gift cards. It is a cashless property, so it does not accept cash payments or gratuities. Kalimotxo is on the street level of the Arrive Hotel at 1813 E. 6th Street, with valet parking off Chicon Street or street parking nearby.
