Iron Works Barbecue

Iron Works Barbecue is a slow-smoked barbecue restaurant known for its signature beef ribs and house-made spicy and regular BBQ sauces, brushed on after smoking. Meats include brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, chicken and sausage, and the house dry seasoning also goes into chili and pinto beans. The restaurant operates out of a former blacksmith tin building that once housed the Weigl family's ornamental iron workshop, and it has been in business since 1978.

The dining room has a rustic, historic feel with old wood floors, and it takes online reservations for tables and parties. Ordering is counter style at lunch, and online ordering is available for takeout, including a family pack. Catering and private party bookings are also offered. The restaurant is at 100 Red River Street in Austin, across the street from the Fairmont Austin, and it is open late on weekdays through Saturday.
