El Nuevo Mexico Restaurant

El Nuevo Mexico Restaurant serves fresh, handmade New Mexican-style Mexican food, with a breakfast menu of migas, chorizo and eggs, huevos rancheros and breakfast tacos, plus fajitas sizzled on a hot skillet and a long list of enchiladas, tamales, flautas and plates with rice and beans. Margaritas and a happy hour are part of the lineup, and the kitchen makes its own tortillas and chorizo.

The Jaimes family started the restaurant in 1997 and still runs it, and family members are often on hand to greet guests. Weekday lunch specials let you build a plate from a set of entrées and sides, and Tuesday is kids eat free. Online pickup ordering and gift cards are available. The Austin location is at 911 W. Anderson Ln in Austin, with other locations in Bastrop and Georgetown.
