China Dynasty

China Dynasty is a family Chinese American restaurant that has been cooking in Austin since 1984. It is best known for its homemade sauces, made from the founders' recipes, including the brown sauce, sweet and sour, General Tso's, and garlic. Signature dishes include General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, and pork dumplings, a longtime favorite that earned a 2012 Austin Chronicle Critics' Pick.

The restaurant does takeout and delivery only, with pickup ordered online or by phone and delivery through DoorDash and Uber Eats. Online orders close 15 minutes before closing time, and the restaurant is closed on Sundays. It has been on Slaughter Lane in South Austin since 1989, after starting on William Cannon Drive, and the family hopes to reopen the dining room someday.
