Capital Veterinary Clinic

Capital Veterinary Clinic is a general practice veterinary clinic in south Austin, founded in 1978 by Dr. Curtis Sanders. Its services cover wellness visits, vaccinations, sick visits and ongoing care for chronic conditions, in-house lab work, digital X-rays, cytology, mobile ultrasound, spays and neuters, dental cleanings and extractions, and other routine surgery.

The clinic works by appointment, and same-day visits may be available if you call to check. Dr. Matthew Scroggs, who took over the practice in 2005, leads a team of several veterinarians. Capital moved into a two-story clinic across the street from its original location, and it offers home delivery of pet medications and nutrition through an online pharmacy. For emergencies outside clinic hours, the clinic refers clients to a specialty and emergency hospital on Frontier Trail.
