Ashland Food Coop

Ashland Food Co-op is a community-owned grocery store that has sold natural and organic food since 1971, when a small group of Ashland families started a food buying club. It carries certified organic produce, sustainably sourced groceries and local products, along with a scratch-made deli and hot bar. The co-op describes itself as Southern Oregon's first and only Certified Organic Retailer.

Anyone can shop without being an owner. Owners, currently numbering over 13,000, have a say in how the store is governed, and a membership investment of $100 (or as little as $10 to start) is refundable. The store is open seven days a week from 7am to 9pm, at 237 N. First Street in Ashland, with a Co-op Kitchen, a cafe and a bakery. Sales flyers and weekly deals are posted on the website, and the co-op runs classes and events at its Co-op Classroom on Pioneer Street.
