Blue Toba

Blue Toba is a downtown Ashland restaurant serving Indonesian food, with dishes built on spices the chef brings back from Indonesian markets. Signature plates include rendang, a beef curry cooked for five hours with 19 spices and coconut milk, along with gulai, opor, mie goreng and nasi goreng. Many dishes are vegan or gluten-free, and the menu includes Indonesian-inspired craft cocktails and mocktails.

Lunch runs Tuesday through Saturday, and dinner is served in the dining room and at the bar, which has a smaller menu. Reservations are taken for parties of five or more, and the restaurant hosts private events. Takeout dinners can be ordered by phone starting at 4:30 pm, and Thursday through Saturday happy hour offers discounts on food and drinks. The restaurant is on East Main Street across from the Varsity Theatre.
