Barrio Costero

Barrio Costero is a Mexican restaurant built around a shared-plate menu. The kitchen draws on traditional Mexican cooking for dishes such as barrio nachos, chicharron with sour cherry mole, octopus aguachile, and tacos filled with birria, carnitas or locally caught fish. Desserts include a chocotamale and a lemon curd flan, and the bar offers margaritas, sangria, Mexican beers and house tequila or mezcal shots during happy hour.

Dishes are planned by the kitchen and arrive at the table for the group to share, so it suits parties ordering several plates together. Takeout and delivery are available from the To-Go menu, and gift cards can be bought online. Reservations go through Resy, and the restaurant is on Bangs Avenue in Asbury Park.
