Mule Bakery + Café

Mule Bakery + Café is a bakery and café that bakes cookies, scones, croissants, muffins and fresh bread every morning. Its scone flavors range from cranberry chocolate chip to bacon jalapeño cheddar, and it also offers eclairs, cupcakes and seasonal fruit tarts. Espresso drinks, drip and cold brew coffee, and Smith's teas round out the menu.

The shop was started by brother and sister Amanda and Chandler and is in the Village at 117 E Branch St. in Arroyo Grande. Customers can come inside to the newly renovated shop or order a scone and drink at the walk-up window. Made-to-order cakes need to be placed at least two weeks ahead, and wedding cakes three months ahead with a $100 non-refundable deposit. The bakery is open weekday mornings until 3 PM, with weekend hours ending at 2 PM on Sundays.
