University Commons

University Commons is a condominium community for active adults in Ann Arbor, made up of ninety-two independently owned residences in buildings, townhomes, and villas. Members must be at least 55 years old, and many are faculty and staff of the University of Michigan or of other colleges, or are professionals and business people. Many residents still work full or part time, in paid or volunteer roles.

The community borders the University of Michigan's North Campus and sits among hardwood forest and natural wetlands. It opened in 2001, after university faculty conceived it in the 1980s as a place for an intellectually engaged life with lifelong learning and the convenience of condo living. It is university oriented, academically inclined and intellectually curious. The office does not handle sales, so anyone looking at units should contact an Ann Arbor realtor.
