Barbecue meets Asian flavors in rice bowls and sandwiches245 N Maple Rd, Ann Arbor, MI

Ricewood is a barbecue restaurant that mixes American smoked meats with Asian flavors. Brisket, pulled pork and spare ribs share the menu with Szechuan chicken, Szechuan tofu and pork belly. Rice bowls start with an 8-ounce protein over white rice with scallions, tomatoes and soy vinegar, while the brisket and pulled pork also come as sandwiches on brioche buns with red cabbage slaw. Meat is sold by the pound, and sides include house kimchi and sesame cucumber.
The Maple Road location, on N Maple Rd in Maple Village, is counter service with limited barstool seating, and it shares a building with Village Kitchen, next to a GNC. Fries are sold only at this location. Orders can be placed online for pickup. A second, larger location on Packard Street has indoor seating and a big outdoor area, and catering requests are taken through a form.
