Old Town Tavern is one of downtown Ann Arbor's most loved townie bars, open since 1972. It began as a blue collar bar that opened at 6 a.m. for third shift workers from area factories, and it still serves a casual menu of burgers, sandwiches, chili cheese fries, Southwestern dishes and dinners like Nashville hot chicken and fish and chips. Its nostalgic, familiar feel is a big part of the appeal.
The kitchen takes dine-in and carry-out orders, and carry-out can be placed by phone or through GrubHub. Kitchen hours run late on Friday and Saturday, closing at 11 p.m. The tavern sits on West Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor, and it hosts a themed trivia-style night on the first Sunday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m.
