Ann Arbor Elder Law is a law firm focused on Medicaid planning, long-term care planning and estate planning for seniors and their families. The founder, Reid McCarthy, says the practice looks at incapacity, nursing care and family issues before death as closely as probate and transferring assets to heirs. The firm helps families who have a relative already in a nursing home as well as those who expect they may need that level of care later.

McCarthy answers his own phone and is available to make house calls, and the firm works with clients throughout Washtenaw County and nearby counties including Western Wayne, Lenawee, Livingston and Monroe. The office is on the first floor at 301 N. Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor, and the firm says it is a smaller practice where clients work directly with the attorney rather than a paralegal.
