Fitness Sports Ames

Fitness Sports is a running and walking shoe store that has been in Iowa since 1984 and is known for personalized shoe fittings. Fitters work with shoppers one-on-one, using foot and arch scans and slow-motion gait video, and the shop carries brands such as Brooks, ASICS, New Balance, Hoka and Saucony. Track spikes for sprint, middle distance, distance, jumping and throwing events are also sold.

Fittings are free and do not require an appointment, and the Ames store also runs group runs. Shoes can be bought online and picked up in store, and the shop offers a price match on identical shoes found cheaper elsewhere. The Ames store is at 410 5th St, and the business has six sister stores across Iowa in Ankeny, Clive, Coralville, Des Moines, Marion and North Liberty.
