Ox Yoke Inn

The Ox Yoke Inn serves traditional Old World German and American meals in family style, with hearty dishes built around salads, vegetables, potatoes and breads. The recipes are passed down through the Leichsenring family, with five generations working at the restaurant since it opened in 1940.

The original location is in an 1856 home in the Amana Colonies and is a National Historic Landmark. Reservations can be made online or by phone, and parties of 11 or more should call. The Bierstube Bar is on the lower level, and online ordering is available. Gift cards and a cookbook are sold in the gift shop.
