Busy Bee Café

Busy Bee Cafe serves homestyle country cooking from breakfast through dinner, with fried chicken livers and chicken fried steak among its best-known dishes. The menu also covers pancakes and waffles, quesadillas, burgers, wraps, colorful salads and a 15-piece shrimp feast. Weekday specials run from 11 AM to 3 PM, and entrees come with a choice of twenty side dishes, including homemade corn casserole, country potatoes and fried zucchini squash.

The Alvin location is open 24/7, so late-night and early-morning meals are easy to get. Both Alvin and Pearland offer takeout, and you can order online or call ahead to bring a meal home. The Pearland location keeps different hours and is open later on Friday and Saturday. The diner has been around for more than 80 years, first opening in Alta Loma in 1935, and K&P Restaurants now operates both locations.
