Ancora Cafe & Bakery

Ancora Cafe & Bakery is a nonprofit cafe on Quincy Street in Albuquerque that serves coffee, pastries, and grab-and-go breakfast and lunch. It runs as paid job-skills training for people in recovery, who learn barista work, baking, cooking, customer service, and cash handling alongside staff. The cafe works in partnership with Perfectly Imperfect, a counseling center, and was established in 2017 as Ancora Transitional Services.

The space is sober and welcoming, and the team hosts regular evening events, including Tuesday D&D nights, Wednesday karaoke, and Thursday open mic with sign-ups starting at 5 p.m. The cafe is open on weekdays only, so plan a visit Monday through Thursday. Its mission centers on giving participants a safe place to practice their skills while they move toward independent living and steady work.
