Michigan Advocacy Program

The Michigan Advocacy Program provides free civil legal help and statewide advocacy for people who have trouble getting access to the justice system. Its direct service programs include Legal Services of South Central Michigan, which serves low-income and senior residents of a number of south central Michigan counties, and Farmworker Legal Services, which helps migrant and seasonal farmworkers across the state. The Crime Victims Legal Assistance Project offers civil legal help to people who have experienced domestic violence or elder or vulnerable adult abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

The program also takes online intake requests for criminal record expungement and Medicaid assistance. Its office is at 15 S. Washington Street in Ypsilanti, and it accepts pro bono and volunteer help.
