CommunityAid

CommunityAid is a faith-based thrift store chain with seven Pennsylvania locations that sells gently used electronics, housewares, decor, clothing and brand-name goods at affordable prices. Its stores also carry Christian-related books and decor alongside everyday finds, and the organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that employs more than 500 people.

Shoppers and donors support local nonprofits focused on food, housing and basic needs, since a share of sales and product goes to hundreds of partner organizations. At the register, customers can choose to round their total up to the next dollar for the CommunityAid Foundation. Donations of new and gently used items can be dropped off at a donation center, and the stores are closed on Sundays and on Christmas, Easter and Good Friday. The Springwood Road location is in York.
