Meryl W. Dorf, Ph.D.

Meryl W. Dorf, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist with a private psychotherapy practice. She works with adults on mood disorders, anxiety, marital and relationship issues, work stress, grief, and concerns of aging, and she offers couples therapy in which the relationship itself is treated as the client. Her approach draws on psychodynamic therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy, and she has worked in outpatient clinics, hospitals, nursing homes and private practice over more than 30 years.

Dr. Dorf is not on insurance panels, but she can provide paperwork for out-of-network reimbursement under your policy. Consultations are scheduled by phone or by email, and she is a PsyPact authorized provider of telehealth. Her office is at 155 Prospect Avenue in West Orange, New Jersey, and she also teaches psychodynamic and couples therapy at the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey.
