Public event rooms with a patio in Degnan Memorial Park650 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ
The Katz Community Center is a public event space in West Orange, run by the township's Recreation Department. Built in 1956 as the Vincent's Pond Field House, it was later remodeled and renamed for Toby Katz, a long-time West Orange councilwoman who advocated for the township's senior citizens. The building has two rooms for rent: the Lake Room, which holds up to 110 people and has an outdoor patio with three square picnic tables, and the Skate Room, which holds up to 40.
Groups book the rooms through the Recreation Department, and using both rooms for one event carries an extra surcharge. Renters should review the procedures and guidelines brochure before starting the rental process. It is available at the center, at the Recreation Department offices and in the town's online document library. The center sits inside Degnan Memorial Park on Pleasant Valley Way.
