Pine Coast Counseling LLC

Pine Coast Counseling offers Christian counseling for children, teens, adults, and seniors working through life's changes and challenges. Jim Shafer, the owner and therapist, is a conditionally licensed pastoral counselor practicing under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker, and he brings years of pastoral care, including work as a Navy chaplain. Common concerns include grief, marriage and relationships, spiritual questions, and the strain of cancer, chronic illness, or caregiving.

Sessions take place at the office in Wells, and telehealth is available for those who prefer it. Counseling draws on Scripture and moves at the pace each client needs. Veterans and first responders are a particular focus. Shafer aims to reply to messages within 24 hours, or by the first business day after a weekend. The practice is not an emergency service, so anyone in crisis should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
