Natura International

Natura International is a conservation organization that works to protect rainforests and other key habitats in Latin America. Its work centers on creating and strengthening protected areas, usually through local initiatives and alliances with communities and governments at the state and regional level. One current effort supports the creation of a protected area in the Sierras de Famatina in La Rioja, Argentina, a high mountain watershed that has faced threats from mining.

Most of its investment goes to Argentina, with additional projects in the Amazon and Andean cloud forests. In-country partners work alongside local NGOs, scientists, and municipal, provincial, and national governments. The organization's U.S. office is in Washington, DC, and it is guided by a board of directors and a president.
