TASTE is a 100% employee-owned specialty food cafe and market that has operated since 1973. Each location pairs a retail market with an upscale cafe serving made-to-order salads, sandwiches and soups, plus small-batch, from-scratch housemade prepared and packaged foods. The shelves focus on artisanal products, especially fine cheese, cured meats, craft beer, wine and foods made in Virginia, and the company holds regular tastings with its producers.

The company has about ten locations across Coastal Virginia and Richmond, with the headquarters on Air Rail Avenue in Virginia Beach. Its cafes offer gourmet drop-off catering and cafe catering, and private events are available.
