IAM Union

IAM Union, formally the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, is a labor union with nearly 600,000 active and retired members across aerospace, defense, transportation, automotive, federal government and woodworking industries. Its members work at companies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Harley-Davidson. The union bargains for wages, benefits, job security and workplace protections, and its website covers contract campaigns, political action and member resources.

People interested in joining can find membership information through the union's website, and retirees can use its Medicare resource center. The union's headquarters is at 9000 Machinists Place in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, where its Winpisinger Education Center hosts training and safety conferences.
