Preschool and infant care with a strong academic focus23805 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance, CA
Leap and Bound Academy is a licensed child care center offering infant care, preschool, transitional kindergarten and kindergarten for children from newborn to kindergarten age. The school is known for its academic program, where teachers with at least 12 units of early childhood education training teach math, writing, language, science, art and music, with an emphasis on vocabulary and communication skills. An in-house chef cooks hot lunches every day, using produce from the school's own garden when it is in season.
The school has locations in Torrance-Walteria and Redondo Beach, and tours can be booked in advance. All staff, including office workers, are cleared through FBI and California Department of Justice checks. Staff keep records of each child's dietary and sensory needs and serve those needs within the same classes. The school is peanut- and tree nut-free, and every meal includes a vegetarian option. Families interested in infant care can ask about the waitlist and upcoming openings.
