Preserving our culture, heritage and community364 Historic Route 66, Tijeras, NM
Cañón de Carnué Land Grant is a community land grant organization focused on preserving the culture, heritage and shared land of its members. Its work includes maintaining the local acequias, including the Acequias de Cañón de Carnué and the Acequia Madre de San Antonio, and supporting the Capilla de San Miguel de Laredo and traditions such as Los Matachines Danzantes and Los Comanchitos de la Sierra. The grant also traces its history through the 1763 and 1819 grants and the 1903 patent.
Land grant membership and a board of trustees guide the organization, and agendas and minutes from its meetings are shared with the community. Neighbors can use the Sala, the grant's meeting hall, along with the picnic grounds and campgrounds, and an RV park is listed as an upcoming project. Rock Canyon Taproom is also among its facilities.
