Engine Armor Automotive Performance Coatings

Engine Armor makes ceramic-based performance coatings for automotive parts, most often headers and other components exposed to very high temperatures. The coatings are meant to improve durability and appearance, protect parts from thermal fatigue, and reduce friction, which the company says can free up more usable power. The shop also does custom powder coating for finishes that need to look good and resist wear and chemicals, though it recommends powder coating where heat and friction are not a concern.

The company says its coatings were tested over full seasons of road racing V8 Mustangs, where engines ran between 3500 and 7000 RPM for up to forty minutes at a time with no visible deterioration afterward.
